Newhaven Historical Society own and manage the Newhaven Museum which is located at Paradise Park in Newhaven, East Sussex – within easy reach of Brighton and Eastbourne. The museum houses a diverse collection of photographs and artifacts relating to local heritage and the maritime history of Newhaven and the surrounding area.
The Society was founded by four local history enthusiasts and collectors, including our Honorary Curator, Peter Bailey MBE. The Newhaven Museum first opened in 1971 in a small rented room adjoining the old Pilot's House on Newhaven's West Quay and expanded to its current location in 1996.
